Pencil Portraits | Oil Painting | Oil Portraits |

Guitar Paintings:

I offer the following Guitar types - stratocaster, telecaster, les paul or Gibson. The shape is cut out of 3/4" 16"x48" board then gessoed and sanded on both sides. The design or portraits or both are drawn on both sides and the painting is begun. Oil paints are used acrylics, enamel spray paint(a multi media approach) whatever the design calls for. The tuner pegs are cut out of 1/4"luan sanded assembled (the shape of the pegs depend upon the subject). The pegs are then painted and attached to the guitar body. After this, the painting has been done on both sides it is now ready for the final steps. Ten coats of clear lacquer are applied to each side and sanded between coats if necessary. Finally when the lacquer is sufficiently cured the buttons are attached and on goes the strap (your choice if you want something other than a solid color).
